Glen "Ace" Austin Hedgecock

Glen "Ace" Hedgecock, 23, of North Alameda Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away October 20, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be Monday. October 26, 2009, 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Oasis Christian Fellowship with Danny Watson of Lovington, NM officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ace was born on October 29, 1985 in Carlsbad to Glen and Sandy Hedgecock and sisters. He started roping at a very young age. Ace loved team roping with his dad and many friends. He also loved camping, hunting, boating, water and snow skiing, riding and ramping his four-wheeler and skateboard. Ace was the stuntman of the family with his skateboarding and roping tricks. He was a hard worker and loved being a derrickhand on a drilling rig. Ace was the rock the family leaned on. They will always miss their Acey Duecey. He met Kara in 2006 and they married recently. They are expecting their first child in March. Ace lived his life to the fullest. He always surrounded himself with family and friends. Ace adored his nieces and nephews and was always teaching them something. He was looking forward to teaching his own child. Ace had the ability to make anything an adventure and was the center of the family's good times. He set no limits for himself and would try anything once. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Bill Marler, Glen V. Hedecock and John Hambleton. Survivors include his wife Kara Hedgecock and their unborn child of Carlsbad, NM; mother Sandy Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; father Glen Hedgecock and Terry Hill of Carlsbad, NM; five sisters Alethea Britton and husband, Howard, Tera Hedgecock and Cody Rich of Carlsbad, NM, Patti Hedrick and husband, Josh of Carlsbad, NM, Sharla Carr and husband, Richard of Carlsbad, NM, and Jill Jennings of Carlsbad, NM; two step-sisters Tara Briones and Bobbie Calk; maternal grandmother, Pat Hambleton of Carlsbad, NM, paternal grandmother, Gladys Hedgecock; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; Brothers-in-law, Matt Worth and Jacob Worth; and Mother-in-law, Diane Worth. Pallbearers will be Josh Hedrick, Cody Rich, Howard Britton, Jeremy Behunin, M. J. Region and Joe Rolan. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Britton, Cody Briones and Ryan Vasquez.
