Gladys Hedgecock

Gladys Hedgecock, 90, Birch Lane, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 27, 2022 at Lakeview Christian Home, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Visitation will be 4:00 PM-6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Josh Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gladys Hedgecock was born December 13, 1931 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Walter Alonzo and Eva Estene (Bolton) Prince. She moved to Roswell, New Mexico with her family as a young girl. Gladys married Glen V. Hedgecock, October 15, 1949. In 1959, they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Gladys worked as a cook for the Carlsbad Municipal Schools for 18 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of God and taught Sunday school for many years. Gladys enjoyed camping with her family where she often times did all the cooking while camping. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Glen V. Hedgecock; sons: Glen A. Hedgecock and John R. Hedgecock; grandson: Glen A. Hedgecock, Jr.: granddaughters: Tisha Hedgecock and Sasha Marie Hedgecock; brother: Walter Prince and sister: Annie Connely. Survivors are son: Billy W. Hedgecock and wife, Thelma; daughter: Linda Ann Bravo and son: Robert Lee Hedgecock; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Inez West and sister-in-law: Mary Hedgecock and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are David Menefee, Robert Kingsbury, Billy S. Hedgecock, Josh Hedrick, Robby Harris and Brad Renshaw. Honorary pallbearers are David Bravo. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
