Gerry Yarbro

Gerry Yarbro, 81, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside service is scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2012, 9:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Kevin Pence, of First Baptist Church, officating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gerry Yarbro was born on July 26, 1931, in Bisbee, Arizona to Roy James and Edith (Collier) Bridgwater. She lived in Oklahoma with her parents as a girl and later moved to Carlsbad. Gerry married Harlan Yarbro on July 19, 1951. They lived in Arizona several years before moving back to Carlsbad. Gerry loved her family very much and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan Yarbro; and sister, June Jones. Survivors are two sons: Kelly Yarbro of Andrews, TX, Mark Yarbro and wife, Beth of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Suzy Yarbro and Al of Rio Rancho, NM; seven grandchildren: Adam, Nicholas, Julie, Sarah, Nathan, Holly, Chris; five great-grandchildren; brother, Don Bridgwater of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
