Gerald "Jerry" Parker

Gerald "Jerry" Parker, 65, of Mission Avenue, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center. No public visitation. A Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dick Means officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gerald "Jerry" Parker was born February 9, 1947 in Artesia, New Mexico to Joe Orland and Delma Lucille (Wood) Parker. He lived in Eddy County his entire life. He married Dorothy Clark in Carlsbad in September, 1976. Jerry was owner and operator of Carlsbad Sheet Metal Heating and Cooling, LLC since January 2001. He worked 27 years at IMC Potash. Jerry loved ranches, horses and roping and volunteered with 4-H and FFA. He enjoyed hunting and camping. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Larry Parker, infant brother, Sonny Parker and infant twin sister and brother, Retha Juanice and Ronald Weston Parker. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Parker of Carlsbad, NM; four children: Joe Parker and wife, Tammy of Beaver, OK, David Parker and wife, Lori of Weatherford, OK, Amy Johnston and husband, Keith of Carlsbad, NM, Marcus Miles and wife, Stacey of Carlsbad, NM; ten grandchildren: Hanna and Russell Parker, Katy, Kell and Tucker Parker, Brendan, Gage and Presley Johnston, Hayden Hamilton and Wesley Miles; three sisters: Orlene Foster of Carlsbad, NM, Ann VanWinkle and husband, Buddy of Hope,NM, Sally Phillips and husband, David of Carlsbad, NM; three brothers: Royce Parker of Roswell, NM, Rodney Parker of Hope, NM, Wendall Parker and wife, Sharon of Artesia, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Foster, Russell Foster, Brian Parker, Chad Parker and Raymond Clark.
