Gerald Depoyster

Gerald Depoyster, 63, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, tragically passed away June 10, 2010. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Veilleux officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Gerald Ray Depoyster was born to LeeRoy and Nina Depoyster in Brownfield, TX on August 28, 1946. He was a kind and generous man who loved and lived for his children and grandchildren. He was always first to lend a hand to somebody in need. Gerald enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 9, 1966 and served his country honorably in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and boating with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed. The family would especially like to thank all of Gerald's friends and family at Madron Services, Inc. for all of their support and generosity. Survivors are Mother, Nina Depoyster of Brownfield, TX; brother, Craig Depoyster of Brownfield, TX; son, James Cox of Gatesville, TX; 5 daughters: Cassandra Fine of Carlsbad, NM, Krysta Mansell of Midland, TX, Kim Depoyster of Roswell, NM, Stacy Cox of Grand Juction, CO, Hollie Whelchel of Roswell, NM; 20 grandchildren: Patrick, Kody, Christopher and Gerald Ray Cox; Shawn and Ryan Cox, Audrea, Desera, Natalee and Bubba Fine; Kaleb and Eden Mansell; Brittany, Christopher, Julie Ann, Jessica, Stephanie, Wyatt, Luke and Samantha Whelchel. Pallbearers will be James Cox, Jason Fine, Jason Hayes, James P. Cox, Steve Jones and Ray Downs. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
