Georgia Nelson, 92, of North James Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at her home.
There will be no visitation.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 22, 2012, 2:00 M, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Wade Whitlock officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Georgia Nelson was born February 14, 1920 in Gallatin, Texas to Joseph Ezekiel and Katie Leoti (Posey) Henry. She graduated from Gallatin High School in Texas. During WWII she worked as a riveter on the aircrafts, but during her life she mostly worked in the health care industry. Georgia loved to sew and she worked as a seamstress. At the age of 80 she was the oldest healthcare (CNA) working with the Yupik Eskimo at the Day Senior Center in Bethel, Alaska. She was a fine Christian woman. Georgia loved her family. She loved animals and children and they loved her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Tate in 2004; brothers: Lloyd Henry, Arthur Henry; granddaughter, Debbie Sheeney.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Whitlock and husband, Wayne of Carlsbad, NM sister, Genevery Hurley and husband, Mac of Middleton, Ohio; six grandsons: Dean Perry, Len Perry, Randy Tate, John Whitlock, Wade Whitlock and wife, Paula, Micah Whitlock and wife, Peggy; two grandaughters: Wendy Alise and husband, Dennis, Shadow Lane and husband, Jeremy; granddaughter-in-law, Jena Whitlock; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
