George had a love for dirt bikes from an early age.  Growing up he excelled at wrestling and boxing.  He enjoyed music and spending time with his children, nieces, and nephews.  Wherever George went he brought his contagious smile.  His witty comments made everyone laugh and he always greeted you with a hug.  His furry shadow, Raven, who he loved dearly, was always by his side.  Some of his passions were working on his bike, truck, and building model vehicles.  George loved to eat, especially tacos and drink Coca Cola.  His signature look included a fresh haircut and Vans. George was his mom’s handyman, always making sure she was taken care of, day or night.  His strength, reliance, and forgiving heart did not go unnoticed.

George was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Salvador and Cuca Duarte; maternal grandparents: Julian and Lucy Ramirez; and nephew, Michael Martinez.

George is survived by his partner, Julia Venegas of Carlsbad, NM and his beloved dog Raven; five children: Jerzy Duarte of Carlsbad, NM; Jevan Calderon of Denver, CO; Jaris Calderon of Carlsbad, NM; Jorri Duarte of Carlsbad, NM; and Silvester Rueda, IV; grandson, Silvester Rueda, V; mother of his children, Jeanette Elizondo of Carlsbad, NM; parents: Eli and Rose Mary Duarte; five siblings: Clarissa Duarte (John Duran) of Carlsbad, NM; and Jeff Duarte (Rebecca Gomez) of Hobbs, NM; Angela Escareno; Michael Hernandez; Jimmy John Rodriguez; six nieces and nephews: Eddie Duarte, Damian Lopez, Jr., Taylor Coy, Coda Duarte, Kaylee Florez, and Jaxson Duarte; mother-in-law, Momma Chela; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
