Gary G. Wencl

Gary G. Wencl, 69, of 116 Buckboard Lane, Carlsbad, NM went home to Jesus July 11, 2022.  Gary was born on May 1, 1953 in Michigan, ND to George E. Wencl and Agnes M. Stropnicky Wencl.  He was raised on a farm near Brocket, ND where his parents and grandparents, William and Emilia Wencl resided.  The farm was sold in 1969 and he went on to auto mechanics, service management, gas compression mechanics and management.  He was semi-retired.

Gary learned young the value of hard work, loyalty and family values that served him well in his lifetime.  He was a little gruff sometimes, but a good Dad and a good example.

He enjoyed many things: bird hunting, fishing, car and tractor restoration, gardening, tinkering in his garage and farming videos on YouTube.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.  Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Denise; daughter, Christine (Mike) Fuglesten of Grand Forks, ND; sons: Ryan (Crystal) Wencl of Carlsbad, and Adam Wencl of Carlsbad; grandchildren: Kyle (Kalissa), Mia (Julonnie), Garrett, Collin, Amarie and Sila; great-granddaughter, Malaya; sister, Connie (Marvin) Fisher of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law, Diane (Charles) Weaver of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law, Lynn (Kathy) Waldorf of Warren, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Calvary Assembly of God, 2107 W. Church Street, Carlsbad, NM, with Rev. Phillip Price officiating.  Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
