Obituary Gary Dale Sedgwick, 66, of Morris Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Jones officiating. Gary Dale Sedgwick was born May 8, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Wilbur Dale III and Dorothy Louise (Ayers) Sedgwick. He loved hunting, fishing and camping. Gary was a true outdoorsman. His favorite past time was riding his motorcycle, but most of all he loved his family. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Dale Sedgwick III. Survivors are his mother, Dorothy Sedgwick Wright and husband, Charles Wright; son: Jason Sedgwick and significant other, Amanda Willingham; granddaughter: Ashley Sedgwick; sister: Vickie Cox and husband, Rodger Cox; nephew: Brandon Cox and wife, Irene Cox; great-niece: Kora Cox; niece: Hailey Hartman and wife, Amanda Hartman; great-nephew: Bran Hartman. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Sedgwick, Rodger Cox, Brandon Cox, Billy Snelson, Kent McCraw and Charlie Wright. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lakeview Hospice.
