Garry Hefner

Garry Lynn Hefner, 76, of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away March 31, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas.

Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest next to Aulton, Francis and Lynda in Danville Arkansas on April 26, 2025. A service is pending in Carlsbad NM in May. 

Mr. Garry Hefner was born December 8, 1948 to Aulton and Frances Hefner. He grew up playing baseball and football. When he graduated high school, he went to the Army to serve our country. Garry worked in all facets of constructions building houses for many years and had several trades in construction. Garry loved animals and had a special heart for them. He was an avid Golf player and loved being out on the golf course. He also spent many years playing travel softball.

In 2023 Garry attended a Walk to Emmaus and gave his life to Jesus. He was sold out for God after that. Garry attended churches First Carlsbad Methodist Church and The Potters House. He attended different bible studies and went to a Men’s conferences every chance he could. Garry Hefner was an amazing person.

Garry Hefner is preceded in death by his parents, Aulton and Francis Hefner; his sister, Lynda Summers; and nephew, Ryan Massey; step mother, Elaine Hefner.

Survivors include his son, Paul Patrick wife Veronica; grandsons, Titus Patrick and Justus Patrick, all of Lubbock, TX; niece, Amy Brannon and daughter Alexandria Massey both in Russellville, AR; nephew, John Summers of Carlsbad NM; aunt, Charlotte Powell; uncle, Manual Horn; several extended family. He also leaves behind a strong community of friends in Carlsbad that are too numerous to name.
