Gabriel Anthony Bonilla

Gabriel Bonilla, 49, of Carlsbad, NM was born April 9, 1974, in Silver City, NM to Ernesto and Mary Anna Bonilla.  He passed away June 11, 2023, in Carlsbad, NM. 

Gabriel was a loving son, a great brother, uncle and friend to many. Gabriel had one daughter, Jazmin Trujillo, whom he loved dearly.  He also had three grandchildren.  Gabriel was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.  He always told jokes and loved joking around. 

Gabriel was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Bonilla; grandparents: Anthonio and Eva Bonilla, Alex and Adelina Duran; aunt, Alice Bonilla and uncle, Jimmy Duran.

Gabriel is survived by his mother, Mary Anna Bonilla; two sisters: Klaudia and Leticia Bonilla; nieces, Nevaeh Bonilla, Lanette Moreno, Alexis and Erica Hernandez, Noelani Urioste; nephews: Elijah Bonilla and Jaden Padea; aunts: Anita Grossman of Arizona, Archy and husband, Tony Rizzuti of Arizona, Cathy Duran of Las Cruces, Molly and husband, Zeke Chavez of Silver City, NM and numerous cousins.

Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday, June 19, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, followed by a vigil starting at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will take place at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Pallbearers will be: Amanda Methola, Ray Methola, Roland Navarrete, Wendell Walker, Albino Garcia, Adam Licon, Martin “Joker” Gonzales and MJ Mike Finen. Honorary pallbearers will be:  Navaeh Bonilla, Leilani Lara, Oakley Florez, Moses Duran, Manuel Lara, Silvester Rueda, Joseph Quesada, and Ruben Bombay Duran.
