Fred H. Jones

Fred H. Jones, 77, of Plum Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation. A Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Fred H. Jones was born November 28, 1937 in Raton, NM the son of J. L and Ruth (Carter) Jones. After graduating from Albuquerque High School, he served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico in Portales in 1968 with a degree in business. On December 30, 1961, Fred married Judith Elaine Nelson at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. He was employed for 27 years by Mountain Bell. Fred retired in 1986 and was later employed as a communications manager for the University of New Mexico and Sandia National Laboratory both in Albuquerque. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carlsbad. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edward and Alton and sisters: Marion and Jean.
