Franklin Dewey Mize, 81, of West Lea Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Geri Cunningham officiating.
Private interment will take place in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Franklin Dewey Mize was born November 30, 1933 to Hugh Harold and Vivian Marie (Mortensen) Mize in Owtonna, Minnesota. He received his formal education in various cities across the United States. Franklin married Adria Joy Crist on January 22, 1954 in Carlsbad, NM. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball and played golf as long as he was able. Franklin worked as an operator and supervisor in power plants in New Mexico and Indiana for 37 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 57 years, Adria Joy Mize; grandson, Gary R. McClinton, Jr. and brother, Terry L. Mize.
Survivors are two sons: Everett Mize and wife, Denise of Logansport, IN, Carey Lee Mize of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Cynthia Roberts and husband, Ed of Jackson, Missouri, Tavia McClinton of Afton, OK; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Curtis Mize and wife, Jennette of Clarksville, TN, Ted Mize of Carlsbad, NM; two sisters: Kathryn Mize of De Soto, TX, Kaylane Christensen and husband, David Greenriver, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.
