Frankie Don Funk, 74, of Ortega Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond Nance officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Frankie Don Funk was born June 18, 1940 in Howland, Texas to Frankie J. and Juanita M. (Whygles) Funk. Frankie (Don) was married to Sharon J. McKinney on June 15th 1962. He worked for General Telephone of the Southwest, Verizon, Valor and Windstream for 44 years. Frankie enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, softball and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elks, as well as vice-president of CWA Local 6171. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Ray Funk. We would also like to mention that Frankie loved his telephone-company family and his softball league family, there being too many to name.
Survivors are his wife, Sharon J. McKinney Funk of Carlsbad, NM; son, Shawn Funk of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Shannon Anaya and husband, Manny of Carlsbad, NM, Brooke Barnett of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Daniel Wade, Marissa Wade, Matthew Wade, Levi Funk, Gavin Barnett; sisters: Faye Benefield and husband, Sam of Carlsbad, NM; Linda McFarland and husband, Mike of Carlsbad, NM; mother-in-law, Imogene McKinney; aunts: Betty Whygles, Jo Crystal Pittman, Audrey James, Bina McKinney and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Daniel Wade, Matthew Wade, Levi Funk, Gavin Barnett, Tommy Barnett and Chris Funk. Honorary Pallbearers will be Quest Funk, Chad Offutt, Jimbo McKinney, Ducker Martin, Chris Keeney and Kevin Harris.
