Francisco Armendariz Sr

Francisco "Frank" Armendariz, Sr., 66, of Idaho St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 15, 2016 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church. A vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2016, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Francisco "Frank" Armendariz, Sr. was born March 27, 1950 in Marfa, TX to Manuel and Margarita (Rodriguez) Armendariz. Frank attended Catholic school where he was an alter boy. After graduating, he moved to Carlsbad and later married Olivia Martinez on June 16, 1973. Frank worked in the potash mines for several years. He enjoyed cooking, dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Frank never turned down the chance to see his grandkids play sports. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife, Olivia Armendariz; daughter: Margie Fernandez and husband, John; sons: Frank Armendariz, Jr. all of Carlsbad, NM, Omar Armendariz and wife, Janelle of Aurora, CO, 11 Grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, brothers: Manuel Armendariz and wife, Becky, Robert Armendariz, Daniel Armendariz and wife, Elva, sisters: Ramona Lara and husband, Jimmy and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
