Frances Norelene "Nana" Ballard

Frances Norelene “Nana” Ballard, 81, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away on April 14, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM. Norelene was born on October 10, 1942, in Roswell, New Mexico to Lloyd and Doris Webb.

Norelene will be fondly remembered for her humor, generosity, and industriousness. Her capacity to love extended beyond family ties, and she will be dearly missed as a friend, mother, and grandmother to many. She worked for many years as a hairdresser in a professional setting and from her own kitchen. She also spent many years as a manager of Kaleidoscoops Ice Cream & More in Carlsbad, NM.

Norelene is survived by her son and his partner, Lloyd Wilson and Lenora Baca of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Skyler Wilson and Chasen Cooper of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Jade Wilson of Albuquerque, NM; and granddaughter, Reyna Cooper of Las Cruces, NM.

Proceeded in death by her son, Richard LaWayne Cooper, whom she will rest beside, and her daughter, Frances Denise Cooper, whose ashes will be buried alongside her.

Services are scheduled for 9:00 AM on May 10, 2024, at Denton Wood Funeral Home in Carlsbad, NM. Burial will follow at the Carlsbad Cemetery.
