Florence Martinez, 47 of Third Street, Carlsbad, NM passed away Friday, August 29, 2014, at Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. There will be no public visitation, cremation will take place. A Vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 5, 2014 at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Agnel Anthony, HGN, officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Florence was born April 21, 1967 in Carlsbad, NM to David and Sally Martinez. She resided and went to school in Carlsbad. Florence worked for Jeff Diamond Law Firm for 21 years. She enjoyed her employment and employers. She enjoyed scrapbooking and musician, Bon Jovi. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors are her husband, Abel Martinez of 27 years; parents, David and Sally Martinez; daughters: Ashley Briones and husband, Jose, Jovina Martinez and companion, Travis Martin of Carlsbad; sister, Veronica Schrock and husband, Mike; brothers: David Martinez, Jr. of Carlsbad, Fabian Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry Martinez and wife, Crystal of Carlsbad; seven grandchildren: Jose, Jr., Elyse and Frankie Jo Briones, Phillip Azael, Roni and Isabella Calvillo and Aston Martin; mother-in-law, Laura Martinez; brothers-in-law: Albert Lopez and wife, Zelma of Carlsbad, Carlos Lopez and wife, Teri of Albuquerque, Michael Lopez and wife, Crystal, Eddy Martinez; step-daughter, Dorothy Rodriguez and husband, Ricky; step-grandchildren, Aiden, Asaiah, Alena and 31 nieces and nephews.
