Fidel R. Valdez, Jr., 49, former resident, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Bridgeport, Nebraska.
Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2015, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Loving, NM, with Father Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating.
Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Fidel Valdez Jr. was born July 17, 1966 in Carlsbad, NM to Fidel Sr. and Carmen (Ruiz) Valdez. He worked for BNSF Railway, and did a lot of traveling. Fidel was a High School Football star for the Carlsbad Cavemen. He enjoyed going on bike rides on his Harley up to the Jemez Tunnels. Fidel loved his Dallas Cowboys and UNM Lobos and watching their games. He loved being around his family and playing cards. Fidel also enjoyed spending time with his new granddaughter, Laila Marie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ruben Valdez and Raul Valdez and one sister, Socorro V. Granado.
Survivors are his children: Amberly Valdez of Albuquerque, NM, Alexander Valenzuela and wife, Mollie of Cameron, NC; granddaughter, Laila Marie; brothers: Mario Valdez and wife, Melanie of Albuquerque, NM, Salvador Valdez and wife, Martina of Loving, NM, Lalo Valdez of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Stella Saxton and husbnad, Phil of California, Grace Rios and husband, Manuel of Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Alexander Valenzuela, Mario Valdez, Salvador Valdez, Manuel Rios, Oscar Granado, Oscar Franco and Lalo Valdez.
