Ferrel Dean Waddle, 80, of Valverde Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, 2011, 10:00 AM at Central Christian Church, 305 North Oak Street with Andy Harris officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ferrel Dean Waddle was born June 13, 1931 in Prescott, Arkansas to W. Howard Waddle and Eva Bryson Forman. They moved to Texas when he was 2 years old. They settled in Martin County, Texas. Dean graduated from Midland High School in 1948. He was in the military from 1951and was honorably discharged in 1953 after serving in the Korean Conflict. He married Melba Clark on July 10, 1954 in Midland, TX. Dean worked for TESCO and I. W. Hynd in Midland, TX until 1962. They moved to Carlsbad in 1962. He was employed 33 years and 7 months at IMC where he retired in 1994. Dean had a unique sense of humor. He played golf and was involved in Little League baseball. He was a member of Central Christian Church and served as Deacon and Elder for several years. His favorite scriptures were II Chronicles 7: 14 and Malachi 3:10. Dean felt that his family was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Melba Waddle of Carlsbad, NM; three children: Lorinda Batchelor and husband, Danny of Katy, TX, Pamela Lopez of Carlsbad, NM, Gary L. Waddle of Carlsbad, NM and daughter in love, Darla Bannister; six grandchildren: Gary D. Waddle and wife, Valarie, Tamara Waddle, Amanda Waddle, Alison Garison and husband, Caleb, Brett Batchelor and Dillon Lopez; two great-grandchildren: Jacob Waddle, Josiah Waddle and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
