Felipe S. Molina, Sr

Felipe S. Molina, Sr., 87, of Russell Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, died peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at San Jose Catholic Church. A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2015, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2015, 2:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Felipe S. Molina, Sr. was born January 8, 1928 to Felipe and Manuela (Simental) Molina in Marfa, Texas. He attended school in Mexico and at the age of 14 his family moved to the Malaga area where he began his farming career. Felipe married Lazara Gonzalez on June 7, 1950 in Pecos, Texas. He continued farming in the Loving and Otis areas until retiring in 1999. Felipe enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Lazara Molina of Carlsbad, NM; children: Corina Molina, Raul Molina and wife, Dolores, Rogelio Molina, Felipe Molina, Jr., Samuel Molina and wife, Lina, all of Carlsbad, NM, Ismael Molina and wife, Lyla of Loving, NM, Benito Molina of Carlsbad, NM, Abel Molina of Dallas, Texas, Carolina Molina of Carlsbad, NM; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Raul Molina; sisters: Rufina, Margarita, Juanita, Angelica, Francisca; special friends, David and Andrea Acevedo and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Scotty Morales, Joseph Morales, Michael Molina, Raul Molina, Jr., Sam Molina, Jr., Ismael Molina, Jr., Benito Molina, Jr., Jared Molina and Jeremy Fuentes, Sr..
