Felipa M. Mendoza

Felipa M. Mendoza, 74, of Lacy Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at River of Life. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 10:00 AM, at River of Life with Pastor Ramon V. Florez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Felipa M. Mendoza was born November 24, 1940 in Balmorhea, Texas to Maxmilliano and Mary (Garcia) Mata. She was a stay at home mother until all her kids left home, and then went to work at Lakeview for 15 years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a member of River of Life Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Esequiel Mendoza, Jr.; 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors are her son, Mike Mendoza and wife, Carol of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Sylvia Mendoza of Carlsbad, NM, Rosie Mendoza of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Stephanie Minner, Stacy Nava, Mike Mendoza, Jr., Matthew Mendoza, Marissa Mendoza, Shyann Mendoza, Joseph Garcia; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and 1 brother. Pallbearers will be Nehemiah Gonzalez, Mike Mendoza, Jr., John Ruben Ramirez, Jr., Moises Gonzales, Jesse Ramirez, Andrew Gonzales, David Reinhart and Steve Mata.
