Felicita L. Anaya, 84, of Davis Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away June 27, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2015, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2015, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Felicita L. Anaya was born November 20, 1930 in Balmorhea, Texas to Manuel and Marta (Alarcon) Lozano. She married Jesus Anaya on November 30, 1946 at the age of 16. Felicita worked in the farm picking cotton and hoeing weeds. She was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her tamales. Felicita enjoyed gardening and making quilts. She never turned down the opportunity to be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesus Anaya; brothers: Jose and Refino Lozano; sisters: Senona Munoz, Cuca Morales, Augustina Salgado, Lucia De la Rosa, Miquela Lozano, Trine Natividad and Maria Hernandez.
Survivors are sons: Juan Anaya and wife, Carmen of Carlsbad, NM, Roberto Anaya of Carlsbad, NM, Daniel Anaya and wife, Mara of Carlsbad, NM daughters: Hortencia Anaya of Carlsbad, NM, Theresa Olivo and husband, Ignacio of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughters raised as children: Barbara Serrano, Maria Estela Anaya; sisters, Jesusita Galindo of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Juan Javier Anaya, Christina Fields, Jesus E. Anaya, Bobby Castillo, Cesar Anaya, Marita Franco Isaac Olivo; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mario Serrano, Jr., Maria Villanueva, Diego Saenz, Silvana Saenz, Isaac Olivo and Frank Terrazas. Honorary pallbearers are all of her great-grandchildren, Alana Twaddle and Jenny Frith.
