Evelyn Stanley, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at her home in Carlsbad, NM.
There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry McKean of Lakeview Hospice officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn was born in Bernalillo, NM to Lena and Achilles Perini on January 20, 1932. They moved to Carlsbad in 1937. She was a dedicated homemaker, supporting her husband and raising four daughters. She was also an accomplished violinist, a private pilot, and certified in several alternative healing modalities. She and her husband, Bill, lived in the country of Jordan for 18 years and traveled extensively overseas. Her interests included china painting, fitness workouts, nutrition for optimal health, traveling, and pets. She was an avid reader with a passion for learning.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Bill Stanley; sister, Norma St. John; four daughters: Barbara Stanley, Regina Mickelson, Joni Clark, and Lisa Stanley; four grandchildren: Chaise Cranston, Eric Mickelson, April Timbs, and Chance Clark; six great-grandchildren, and her dog Ginger.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Noah's Ark Animal Shelter in memory of Evelyn Stanley, 5217 Buena Vista, Carlsbad, NM 88220.
