Evahdine Wells

Evahdine Wells, 104, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 2, 2010 at Lakeview Christian Home. Graveside services are scheduled for Sunday, September 5, 2010, 1:30 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Chaplain John Mezger officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Evahdine Wells was born February 6, 1906 to Thomas Christopher Draper and Martha Elizabeth (Morgan) Draper. She married Arthur L. Wells, Sr. October 22, 1927 in Mineral Wells, Texas. They moved to Carlsbad in 1940 where they raised their family. Evahdine was a long time member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur L. Wells, Sr., sons Jerry W. Wells and Richard T. Wells. Survivors include son, Arthur Wells and wife, Sally of Searcy, AR; granddaughters, Vicki Martin of Weatherford, TX, Kathi Merritt of Searcy, AR and Lori Dean of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Vincent Wells of Las Cruces, NM; sisters, Joyce Snyder of Searcy, AR and Ann Guttilla of CA.
