Eva Garcia

Eva Garcia, 79, of Algerita Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 15, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Eva Garcia was born November 23, 1937 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Angel and Josephina (Medrano) Galindo. She married Santiago Garcia February 14, 1957. Eva enjoyed raising her 11 children and later loved helping raise her grandchildren. Family was her life and she touched the hearts of many. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ageda Leyva and brother, Adan Galindo. Survivors are her husband, Santiago Garcia, Sr. of Carlsbad, NM; children: Ancelmo Garcia and wife, Melinda of Carlsbad, NM, Armando Garcia of Grand Junction, Colorado, Angelica Fernandez and husband, Gary of Grants, NM, Raul Garcia and wife, Diana of Lubbock, Texas, Santiago Garcia, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Carlsbad, NM, Maria Magdalena Garcia of Carlsbad, NM, Javier Garcia and wife, Erlinda of Santa Fe, NM, Raquel Gonzales of Carlsbad, NM, Adela Orozco and husband, Junior of Carlsbad, NM, Cruz Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; grandson raised as a son, Anthony Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Catalina Carrasco and husband, Felix of Carlsbad, NM, Ysabel Galindo and wife, Amelia of Carlsbad, NM, Dolores Baca and husband, Ray of Albuquerque, NM, Criselda Sing and husband, Mike of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ancelmo Garcia, Armando Garcia, Raul Garcia, Santiago Garcia, Jr., Javier Garcia and Cruz Garcia. Honorary pallbearer is Anthony Rodriguez.
