Eugene D. Rodriguez

Eugene D. Rodriguez, Sr., 79, of Cedar Street, Loving, NM, passed away April 10, 2024, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Eugene was born on August 1, 1944, in Carlsbad, NM to Cleto and Maria Rodriguez.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Catarina Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eugene was an outdoors man, and loved working on his yard and his house. He was true 49ers fan, Dr. Pepper drinker, and family man. Eugene loved spending time with his family, and cherished every moment with them. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Cleto Rodriguez; mother, Maria (Duran) Rodriguez; son, Eugene Rodriguez, Jr.; and four brothers: Ernesto Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Pete Rodriguez, and Arturo Rodriguez.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Romy Rodriguez of Loving, NM; two daughters: Shirly Lopez and Alvino of Carlsbad, NM; and Carla Rodriguez and Rico Morales of Loving, NM; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters: Beatrice Contreras and Daniel of Carlsbad, NM; and Lasara Palma of Odessa, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Bricen Morales, Zachary Rodriguez, Marcus Rodriguez, Eugene Ray Rodriguez, Danny Rodriguez, and Eric Palma. Honorary pallbearers will be Brenden Rodriguez, Houston Rodriguez, and ZJ Rodriguez.
