Ester "Tey" Rico

Maria Ester “Tey” Rico passed away May 15, 2024, in Las Cruces, NM. She was born in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Maria de Jesus Lozano Rico and Angel Lozano Rico.

She was married at a young age to Victor Garcia and was widowed shortly after.  She made her way to the United States in 1983, where the sought work as a housekeeper.  Maria found new love with Arturo Sotelo, until his death.

Ester loved to dance and sing and enjoyed having a good meal to eat.  She had a very good memory.  Her favorite pastime was doing crosswords and watching novellas.

Ester is survived by her brothers, Angel Javier Rico and wife, Esperanza Rico, Pedro Rico, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Edwardo Rico and Ramon Rico, and her sister Eusebia Hagans.
