Ervenia M. Garcia, 78, of Juarez Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, October 12, 2012, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2012, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ervenia M. Garcia was born April 14, 1934 in Sanderson, TX to Refugio and Pabla (Fuentez) Martinez. She married Lupe Garcia on October 19, 1951 in Carlsbad, NM. They were married for 61 years. Ervenia loved to cook, shop, enjoyed traveling and going to Casino's. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by son, Bob Garcia in 2005; sisters: Mary Morales, Refugia "Cuca" Yturralde; brothers: Dario Martinez and Martin Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Lupe Garcia of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Sally Molina and husband, Ralph of Peoria, AZ; nine grandchildren: Sonia Molina, Anthony Molina, George Garcia, Gabe Garcia, Robbie Garcia, Mary Garcia, Priscilla Garcia, Jessie Garcia, Celina Garcia; ten great-grandchildren: Angel, Andrea, Alicia, Gabriel, Jr., Christian, Ezekial, Larissa, Jessie, Jr., Athena, Marius. Pallbearers will be Gabe Garcia, Jessie Garcia, Angel Garcia, Anthony Molina, Leo Montano and Rudy Griego. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
