Carlsbad is feeling a little less colorful these days with the passing of Erica Marie Corrales Juarez, but we're certain she's still jamming out to oldies up there. From October 3, 1981, to April 16, 2023, Erica was a loving mother, a big-hearted caring person, a devoted friend, and a champion dice player!
Erica had a zest for life that was downright contagious. Outdoors, coloring, and music were the tools Erica used to bring a little extra sunshine into everyone's day. If you didn't know whether to 'stay or go' in life, Erica was always there to lend an ear and help you pick a direction. Her kindness was legendary.
Erica leaves behind a loving husband, Jesus Juarez, and three amazing sons, Xavier Juarez, Isaac Juarez, and Anthony Juarez. Holding her memories is Erica's mother, Yvonne Corrales, step-father, Jose Alamo De La Cruz, father Pedro Corrales, brother Anthony Corrales, and his fiancé, Destiny Garcia. Erica's warmth and generosity were also shared with her grandmother, Juanita Whygles, great grandmother, Isabel Dominguez, uncle, Angel Martinez and wife Maryann, uncle Donald Martinez and wife Norma, aunt, Belinda Whygles, aunt Rose Whygles and aunt Valeria Martinez. Erica's sister, Sarah Ann Corrales Guerra, preceded her in death.
Erica attended Carlsbad High School and NMSU-Carlsbad. Erica was known to blow the roof off Potter's House church with her loves, joy, and laughter.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. We will celebrate Erica's life on Thursday, April 27, 2023, 10:30 AM, with a service at San Jose Catholic Church. Remember, Erica never liked sad faces, so we'll keep it fun! Contributions can be made on Cash App to either Yvonne Corrales or Jesus Juarez or to Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
