Eric Luis Carrasco

Eric Luis Carrasco left this world on July 19, 2023, at the age of 27. Without asking, he took our hearts with him and we will never be the same. In a flash of light and just like the life he lived it was unexpected and a complete shock. That was our Eric. He was a ball of energy and even when he left the room, you knew he had been there.

Eric was born to Fabian Carrasco and Nicole Carrasco on April 19, 1996 and from the moment he made his way into this world he was a force of nature. Eric was BIG energy! He did everything BIG! He got mad BIG, but mostly he loved so so BIG! When Eric loved you, he left no doubt in your mind that you were loved.  Eric lived many lifetimes in the short span of 27 years. Throughout his life, he experienced challenges and moments that were not his finest, and he would be the first to admit it. He was a complicated young man after all and he knew it. Through it all, his moments or triumphs and losses, there was one constant that rose above all the chaos and that was his loving mom. If he could speak to us now, the one person that he would speak to would be Nicole, “I’m so sorry mom,” would probably be something he would say, not because he was leaving this earth, but because he didn’t want to see her in pain. After all she was the love of his life and undoubtedly his biggest fan and protector. Most of all she was his best friend. His mom was the one person that he would turn to in his time of need and she was always there. Eric knew that she had his back always and he never hesitated to tell everyone he knew that he owed her everything. He simply adored his mom.

How do you catch a Comet by the tail? You don’t even try. And like a comet, Eric lived his life by his own rules, leaving a legacy of vapors as he moved along through life. He often took the long road and chose and navigated all the curves and winding roads. The easy and straight road was not for Eric. He made friends everywhere he went and left lasting memories with everyone that was lucky enough to know him. Through all the struggles in his life, Eric added his own style and finesse to everything he did. Eric had recently turned to the Lord and was so proud of his new found faith and the path he was on. He was proud of his job with CLS as a Field Specialist and looked forward to many great things that he wanted to accomplish. Eric had recently received news that his fiancé Jackie was expecting. This was Eric’s first child and he was thrilled by the anticipation of having a family and being a father! But the Lord had a different plan. Jackie lost their child, just a few weeks ago, in the early terms of pregnancy and Eric was devastated. We would like to think in our hearts, that his baby was there to greet him in heaven and now Eric is smiling that beautiful smile and holding his little baby in his loving arms.

Eric loved his family beyond comprehension and spending time with his mother, father, brothers and his extended family meant the world to him. He loved cookouts, and get-togethers, often helping to do anything and everything that was needed. He loved sports, hunting with his dad and always looking for the next adventure. His smile was brilliant and infectious, and lit up any room he was in. Eric lived his life on the verge of the next adventure. He was spontaneous and fearless and always up for something new. Eric often surprised his nieces and nephews with gifts, it didn’t have to be a special occasion, he did it because if brought joy to his heart. At family gatherings, you could find Eric sharing childhood memories with his cousins and making them all laugh.

Did we mention that our Eric had swag? Man, did he have swag! From his perfect haircut to his waxed brows, he always had to be fresh! His shoes were always polished, his clothes were wrinkle free and he always accessorized with a clean hat and nice belt. And let’s not forget the bling! Yes, he was always wearing his jewelry! Eric didn’t always show his greatest qualities and there were so many. He was loving and loyal. He was caring and compassionate. He was ambitious, daring and hard-working. He was funny and had the best laugh. Most of all Eric had stamina, perseverance and a great determination to live a good life and he was truly on his way.

If Eric taught us anything at all, it was not to look back. He taught us to keep pushing and not to give up. He taught us to love with no boundaries. He unapologetically protected those he loved with a fierceness that we will never feel again. To us, his parents and siblings, Eric was ours! No, not perfect, but with all his dents and scratches, he was perfect and we loved him so much and he us! Go rest in peace now our beautiful son and loving brother knowing the impact you had on all of us will live in our hearts and minds and we will cherish your memories until we meet again.
