Enriqueta "Queta" Gonzalez, 83, of Monterey Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away October 22, 2009 at her daughter's home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Javier Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Enriqueta "Queta" Gonzalez was born January 28, 1926 in Carlsbad, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and two grandsons. Survivors include her husband, Alfredo Gonzalez of Carlsbad, NM; four daughters: Daughters: Sarah "Sally" Alvers of Missouri, Lillie Contreras of Hobbs, NM, Carol Vallejo and husband, Jessie of Carlsbad, NM, Birdie Melendrez and husband, Rudy of Carlsbad, NM; two sons: Lorenzo Gonzalez and wife, Jenny of Artesia, NM, Pete Gonzalez of Albuquerque, NM; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Juan Ortiz of El Paso, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jessie Vallejo, Richard Vallejo, Agapito Orona, Rudy Melendrez, Michael Lorenzo Lopez and Israel Serrano.
