Emilia "Emily" N. Flores

Emilia "Emily" N. Flores, 82, of North 2nd Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 1, 2010 at Landsun Homes. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Vigil Services are scheduled for Sunday, April 4, 2010, 7:30 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Emilia "Emily" N. Flores was born May 29, 1927 in Carlsbad, NM to Jose and Juana (Navarette) Flores. She grew up in Carlsbad and attended San Jose Catholic School. Emily worked at St. Francis Hospital, Eddy County Human Services and Motel Stevens. She also worked for the School System as a "Grandma" where she was loved by all the children. Emily also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her yard and singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Audifax Rodriguez; son, Robert Quintela and step-father, Domingo Hernandez. Survivors include four sons: Rudy Rodriguez and wife, Mary of Carlsbad, NM, Ricky Quintela and wife, Vera of Artesia, NM, Manuel Quintela and wife, Matilda of Carlsbad, NM, Ray Quintela and wife, Maria of Littlefield, TX; daughter, Teresa F. Estrada and husband, Vicente of Santa Fe, NM; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Seferina Lopez of Carlsbad, NM; brothers, Jerry Flores of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Rudy Rodriguez, Jr., Josh Quintela, Andrew Quintela, Jorge Valencia, Robbie Estrada and Jason Quintela. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
