Emery "Dee" Rogers, 75, of North Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at his home.

Emery "Dee" Rogers was born February 22, 1938 in Loving, New Mexico to Howard Leslie and Geneva Mae (Mason) Rogers. He was a lifelong resident of the Carlsbad area, attending Carlsbad Schools. Dee started a living as a truck driver until enlisting in the Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict. After serving in the Air Force, he went back to truck driving for a total of 30 years. Dee married Wanda Johnson on April 24, 1972 in Sierra Blanca, Texas. In 1998 he retired due to an injury. Dee enjoyed hunting, fishing and his computer. He especially enjoyed his family. Dee loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Earl "Bobby" Rogers and brother, Lonnie Rogers.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Wanda Rogers of Carlsbad, NM; children: Darlene Bhatt and husband, Chandra of Kelowna, British Columbia, Emery Rogers, Jr. and wife, Jan of Surprise, AZ, Melissa Roberts and husband, Jason of Tonopah, AZ, Rebecca Russell of Definlak Springs, FL, Jerry Rogers and wife, Melissa of Carlsbad, NM, Roger Rogers of Gans, OK, Michelle Wilson and husband, Mike of Gans, OK; siblings: Leslie Rogers and wife, Pam of Arizona, Joyce Kennedy and husband, Herman of Ft. Worth, TX, Faye Fry and husband, Andy of Carlsbad, NM, Wilma Gandy and husband, Ted of Lovington, NM, Wanda Nickel of Carlsbad, NM, Bo Smith and wife, Meaghan of Alaska, Billy Smith and wife, Jane of Arkansas, Brenda Westfall and husband, John of Carlsbad, NM; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
