Elsie Everidge Palma, 67, of Westridge Rd., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away February 10, 2011 at Landsun Homes.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 13, 2011, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, February 14, 2011, 10:00 AM, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Cyprian Uline, OFM, Conv. officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Elsie Everidge Palma was born May 14, 1943 in Culp, Arkansas to Samson and Esther (Acklin) Everidge. She attended school in Mountain View, Arkansas. Elsie moved to Carlsbad in 1977. She worked as a teachers aide at St. Edward School for several years and later at Eddy Potash. Elsie enjoyed country music and dancing and always loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson Jayce Palma, brothers Charles Everidge and James "Monk" Everidge and sister Jean Holt.
Survivors include children Phil Palma and wife, Charla of Carlsbad, NM, John Paul Palma and wife, Patti of Rimrock, AZ, Christina Montoya and husband, Raul of Carlsbad, NM and Michael Palma and wife, Tracy of Kansas City, KS: 5 grandchildren; Josh Palma, Jordan Palma, Jason Palma, Brianna Montoya and Ashlynn Palma; brother Johnny Everidge and wife, Barbara of Mountain Home, AR; sister Pearl McGowen and husband Ernest of Calico Rock, AR and numerous nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be David Dorado, Sam Dorado, Mike Melendrez, Albert Montoya, Elias Montoya, Jr. and Casey Parraz.
