Eloisa Ramirez Sanchez

Eloisa Ramirez Sanchez, 98, of Juarez Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 18, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Oasis Christian Fellowship with Pastor Alberto Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Eloisa Ramirez Sanchez was born on February 28, 1914, in Ruidosa, Texas to Pasqual and Carlota (Hinojos) Ramirez. She moved to Carlsbad in 1946. Eloisa worked for Carlsbad Laundry for several years. She married Baltazar Sanchez on November 23, 1963 here in Carlsbad. Eloisa enjoyed cooking and gardening but most of all she loved reading her bible. She was a long time member of Oasis Christian Fellowship. Many friends and family will remember her beautiful appearance. Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Baltazar Sanchez; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors are her stepson, Daniel Sanchez and wife, Henrietta of Visalia, California; stepdaughter, Virginia Gayer and husband, Norman of Fresno, California; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Ramirez of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Aurora Navarrete and husband, Bonifacio of Loving, NM; sister-in-law, Clara Ramirez of Carlsbad, NM; niece, Senaida Garcia; nephew, Sammy Porras and wife, Grace; niece, Lucretia Porras; and many other nieces and nephews Pallbearers will be Jessie Porras, Samuel Porras, Lucretia Porras, Oscar Bellis, Jose Vasquez and Victor Armendariz.
