Elizabeth Jean Medlin Culver, 87, of North Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Lakeview Christian Home.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, October 14, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Lakeview Christian Home Chapel with Chaplain John Mezger officiating.
A Cryptside Service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 15, 2010 at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico with, Larry Henderson officiating.

Elizabeth Jean (Medlin) Culver was born in Celeste, Texas on January 22, 1923 to Earl Hicks and Jessie Alma (Pinkston) Medlin. Jean graduated from Greenville Texas High School in 1939. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in English and a Permanent High School Teacher's Certificate from East Texas State Teacher's College, now Texas A & M University, in Commerce Texas in 1943. Jean married John "Jack" E. Culver on January 3, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM. She lived in Albuquerque, NM for approximately 40 years before moving to Carlsbad in 1992. Jean was a life-long member of the church of Christ. Her hobbies included reading, walking and music. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters: Louise Johnson and Patricia Price; two brothers-in-law and one nephew.
She is survived by two cousins: Ann and Peggy McKee, of Dallas, TX; two nieces: Sondra Tewes (Peter) Vancouver, WA; Sheree Traub, Buena Park, CA; two grandnieces: Tori Smalley (Michael), Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer Kieffer (David) Corona, CA; four grandnephews: Scott Traub (Veronica) Yorba Linda, CA, Christopher Tewes (Tina) Eagle Creek, OR, Nathan McCasland, Albuquerque, NM, Peter Tewes, III, Portland, OR; three great-grandnieces; four great-grandnephews; stepson, Jerry Culver (Martha), Sparks, NV; and very special, loving friends, Larry and Signe Henderson, Carlsbad, NM.
