Elisa Jasso

Elisa Jasso, 94, of Elmdale Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Landsun Health Services Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2015, 10:30 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Elisa Jasso was born January 12, 1921 in Candelaria, Texas to Mercedes and Julia (Dominquez) Porras. She married Carlos Jasso on January 26, 1942. Elisa enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and never turned down the opportunity to attend their sporting events. She was a long time member of San Jose Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Jasso; son, Manuel Jasso; three sisters and three brothers. Survivors are her son, Nolberto Jasso and wife, Maria of El Paso, TX; three daughters: Maria Jasso of Carlsbad, NM, Angie Lopez and husband, Abel of Carlsbad, NM, Otilia Navarrete and husband, Martin of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Daniel Carlos Jasso, Susano Jasso, Carlos Jasso and wife, Lisa, Gabriel Lopez and wife, Stephanie, Monica Pena and husband, Danny, Amanda Carrasco and husband, Christopher, Rebecca Gomez and husband, Michael, Marcus Navarrete, Megan Navarrete and Erynn Lopez; great-grandchildren: Shay Jasso, Alex Jasso, Andres Lopez, Noah Lopez, Marina Pena, Natalia Pena, Leonardo Pena, Charlotte Gomez; sister, Socorro Bustamante and husband, Ramon of Midland, TX and numerous nieces and nephews, Pallbearers will be Carlos Jasso, Gabriel Lopez, Marcus Navarrete, Daniel Jasso, Susano Jasso, Monica Pena, Rebecca Gomez, Megan Navarrete, Erynn Lopez and Amanda Carrasco.
