Elisa A. Muoz, 98, of Florida Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at her home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 12, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Saul P. Rocha and Chaplain Andy Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Elisa A. Muoz was born to Hilario and Felicita Arras in Presidio, Texas on June 13, 1918. She married Geronimo R. Muoz on January 20, 1938 in Juarez, Mexico. They lived throughout New Mexico and Texas finally settling in Carlsbad, NM in 1963. Mrs. Muoz is preceded in death by her husband; parents, daughter, Guadalupe Granados; sons: Emigdio, Valente and Severiano Muoz; 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 3 grandsons and 1 great-grandson.
Mrs. Muoz's survivors include her sons: Demetrio Muoz and Felix Muoz and wife, Adela; daughters: Eva Dominguez, Gloria Pia and husband, Manuel, all of Carlsbad, NM and Jovita Carlsen and husband, James of Austin, Texas; 36 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Soccoro A. Marquez; brother, Armador Arras and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Muoz was a devoted Christian and member of Apostolic Assembly Church. She was an avid bible reader and a prayer warrior. Her passion was reading and teaching from the bible to anyone willing to listen. She loved to sing and praise her savior. Mrs. Muoz's favorite pastime was spending time with her immediate family especially spoiling and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening and sewing.
The family extends a sincere thank you and appreciation to Dr. Muoz, Encompass Home and Health Hospice team and special caregivers: Gloria, Raquel and Belia who gave unconditional love and support throughout her illness.
Pallbearers will be Fernando Muoz, Daniel Muoz, Eric Trevino, Demetrio Muoz, Jr., Vidal Granados and Manuel Pia, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Demetrio Muoz, Felix Muoz, Manuel Pia, Sr., James Carlsen and Samuel Escareo.
