Obituary Elaine T. Janis, 89, of Carlsbad, NM died April 20, 2020. Formerly from Roswell, NM and previously from Tinley Park, IL., and Chicago. Dear daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Janis of Homewood, Il. She graduated of South Chicago Community Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago, IL. Elaine attended DePaul University, Chicago, IL., and received a masters degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL. She was a nursing instructor at South Suburban College, South Holland, IL., for 18 years. After retiring, Elaine moved to Roswell, NM in 1988 and relocated to Carlsbad in 2006 where she resided at Landsun Retirement Community. Jane had the most interesting and fulfilling journey through life. Her motto has been always try your best and keep a sense of humor.
