Edna Mae Knight

Edna Mae Knight, 88, former resident of Hobbs, passed away April 19, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home A Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday, April 23, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs, New Mexico with Pastor Rick Ketterling officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Edna Mae Knight was born December 30, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri to Howard and Mary Lou (Paxton) Barnes. She played golf, enjoyed china painting, loved to fish and care for her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1996; two brothers: Robert Roy Barnes and Howard Barnes and two sisters: Betty Williams and Mary Elizabeth (Bobbie) Cleghorn. She is survived by her niece: Petey Lewis and husband, Wayne of Carlsbad, NM three nephews: Cary Barnes and wife, Cindy, Howard Barnes, Jr. and Jeff Barnes all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; great-niece, Janice Lucas and husband, Berry of Carlsbad, NM; great-nephew, Kerry Lewis and wife, Christi of Carlsbad, NM; great-great-nieces and nephews: Kara Lucas of Carlsbad, Berry Lucas, Jr. and wife, Rachel of Cimmaron, NM, Rebeka Lucas of Carlsbad, NM and Koby Lewis of Carlsbad, NM; sister-in-law, Patricia Barnes of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and numerous special friends and caring neighbors, Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
