Edith "Peggy" Riggleman, 86, former resident, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Abilene .
There will be no public visitation.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Tony Dominguez officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Edith "Peggy" Riggleman was born May 26, 1929 in Warren, Ohio to Ralph Herbert and Mary Frances (Bishop) Fleishman. She graduated from Ravenna High School in Ravenna, Ohio. Peggy received a nursing diploma from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. She earned a bachelor of science at the College of the Southwest in Hobbs and BSN from the University of South Dakota. Peggy worked civil service as a nurse in Panama Canal for several years. She was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Carlsbad Regional Medical Center and Guadalupe Medical Center. In 1979, Peggy moved to Abilene where she worked at Abilene Regional Medical Center and later retired form Care Inn of Abilene. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patty Ziegenhagen and sister, Frances McAfee.
Survivors are her daughters: Teresa Dodson and husband, Larry, Judy Carrasco and husband, Joe, Cassandra Phipps; grandchildren: Michelle Sheets, Katrina Carter, Beth Gibson, Jessica Gibson, Heather Matthews, Katie Gibson and LaRae Carrasco; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sisters: Margaret Bersen, Linda Fleishman; brothers: Richard and Ralph Fleishman.
Pallbearers will be Joe Carrasco, Frederick Ghant, William Matthews, John Switzer, Larry Dodson and John Bain.
