Wickert, 86, of Westridge Rd., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away February 11, 2011 at Landsun Homes.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 10:00 AM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Krueger officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Edith Wickert was born July 14, 1924 in Marion, Illinois to Arthur and Hilda (Soldner) Fietsam. She graduated from high school in Marion. Edith married Harold John Wickert June 17, 1943 in Marion. They moved to Carlsbad in 1955. Edith went to work at Carlsbad National Bank where she worked 25 years before retiring. She was an excellent seamstress. Edith made much of the clothes for her family including wedding dresses. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and music. Edith was a member at First Presbyterian Church, Business and Professional Women's Club, Good Sams and was active in the church choir when her health still allowed. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harold Wickert.
Survivors include daughters; Barbara Baker and husband, David of Roswell, NM, Diane Gause and husband, Henry of Sparks, NV and Karen Richardson and husband, Randy of Carlsbad, NM; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and sister Irma Lima and husband, Phil of Goodyear, AZ.
