Edith Florez Duran

Edith Florez Duran, 72, of Peachtree St. in Carlsbad, NM was called upon by the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2024, in El Paso, TX. Edith was born on April 11, 1952, in Carlsbad, NM to Manual and Juana Florez.

There will be no viewing, and cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date with interment at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Edith “Gorme” enjoyed life, cooking, being outdoors and gardening, and spending time with her family. She admired her children and especially her grandchildren. Edith loved the time spent with her closet family members and friends. Gorme also loved the Dallas Cowboys and would always let them know: “Toof-Toof” this is for my Cowboys!

Edith will be missed immensely, and the void will never be filled. Continue to look over us and lend that “Consejos,” yank that ear!

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Duran; father, Manuel Juarez Florez; mother, Juana (Ramoz) Florez; son, Eric Florez; and two siblings: Fidel Florez and Pat Lucero.

Edith is survived by five children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, one brother, nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends that became like family.
