Earnest D. Bostick, 83, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at Landsun Homes.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 2016, 10:30 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Fred Connell officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Earnest D. Bostick was born March 24, 1933 in Castro County, Texas to Frank Homer and Perry Lee (Perry) Bostick. He married Joann Cooper on November 29, 1952 in Post, Texas. They moved to Carlsbad in 1964 where Earnest went to work in the potash mines. Earnest retired in 1983 after 29 years of service with Duvall and later Western Ag. He loved working with his hands, especially wood working, metal works and leather crafts. There wasn't much that Earnest couldn't build. Earnest was a long time member of First Assembly of God and never turned down the opportunity to share Christ with others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping but most importantly spending time with family and friends. Earnest was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Joann Bostick; brothers: Kelly, Billy and Frank Bostick; sisters: Arzine Bostick and Nannie V. Littrell.
The family would like to thank the Landsun Homes staff and Landsun Hospice staff for the love and care given to Earnest.
Survivors are his son, Leroy Bostick and wife, Robin of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Joy Carroll and husband, Tony of Silver City, NM; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
