D.T. "Buck" Meiers

D. T. "Buck" Meiers, 84, of Apache Trail, Magnolia, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014, at his home. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Randy Land officiating. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. D. T. "Buck" Meiers was born December 23, 1929 in Carlsbad, NM to Dave Williams and May (Brown) Meiers in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He grew up and graduated in Carlsbad, NM. He worked as a plant operator in the mines until he was drafted. Buck served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. On December 27, 1952 he married Donna Lea Brank in Carlsbad, NM. After his military service he went back to work in the mines and retired in 1992 after 43 years. Buck enjoyed playing cards, especially skip-bo. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, David Meiers in 1984 and brothers: David Meiers and Emmitt Burn. Survivors are her son, William "Bill" Meiers and wife, Linda of Magnolia, TX; daughters: Charlotte Cox of Phoenix, AZ, Deanna Miller of Carlsbad, NM and 5 grandchildren Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 2625 Pennsylvania NE, # 225, Albuquerque, NM 87110 Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
