Dorothy T. Juarez

Dorothy T. Juarez, 52, of Tampico Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 31, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2012 Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 3, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Mennonite Church with Pastor David W. Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Dorothy T. Juarez was born on January 19, 1960 in Carlsbad, NM to Benito M. Sr. and Zulema (Terrazas) Juarez. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1978. Dorothy received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. She taught at Tell Me Time at Fox and Lake for several years and also at the Tuesday-Thursday school at First United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed babysitting for many years. She went to work at Electric Supply Co. as a bookkeeper in 1997, where she was still employed. Dorothy was a charter member of the Carlsbad Mennonite Church where she was a minister of Christian education and sponsored the youth. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Cecilia T. Juarez and Brenda J. Hart; brothers: Jimmie Munoz and Benito M. Juarez, Jr. Survivors are her siblings: Elizabeth T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM, Virginia T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM, Mariano T. Juarez and wife, Toni of Ruidoso, NM, Thomas T. Juarez of Hobbs, NM, Lorraine J. White of Carlsbad, NM, Francisco T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM, Dibrell T. Juarez and wife, Lety of Jacksonville, Florida, Linda Claffey and husband, Donald of Columbus, Ohio, Olga T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM, Tina T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM, Sherry T. Juarez of Carlsbad, NM and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Tom White, Mark Cuellar, Danny Chavez, Timothy Madrid, Rudy Melendrez and Mark Trujillo.
