Dorothy Sue Titus

Dorothy Sue Titus, 97, of Elgin Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 5, 2023 at Goodlife Assisted Living.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday, December 8, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Brad Dugas officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.  Denton-Wood Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy was born December 13, 1925 in Otis, NM to Thomas and Emma (Mabry) Arrington.  She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1943.  Dorothy married Bert Titus December 1, 1947 here in Carlsbad.  After raising her children, she worked in the grocery business for many years. Dorothy went to work at Mississippi Potash in 1974 until retiring. She always looked forward to her summer in Chama which she dearly loved.  Dorothy enjoyed traveling and fishing.  She was a life-long and active member of Carlsbad First Assembly.  Dorothy was known for always visiting and taking care of the shut-ins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bert Titus; sons: Bert Titus, Jr., Dennis Titus; daughter, Karen Brown; granddaughter, Kristi Newby and 8 siblings. 

Survivors are her sons: Don Titus and wife, Pam, Roger Titus; grandchildren: Jeremy Titus, Jason Titus, Teresa Moody and husband, Levi, Brad Brown and wife, Yvonne, Jennifer Tupper and husband, Sam, Randi Rich, Jaden Titus, J.C. Wells; great-grandchildren: Addison, Cameron, Blake, Savannah, John, Skylar, Rayleigh, Braelyn, Regan and Kinslee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
