Dorothy E. Rabbitt

Dorothy E. Rabbitt, 85, of San Juan Manor, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 2, 2010 at her home. Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, January 11, 2010, 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. She will be buried next to her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Dorothy E. Rabbitt was born March 26, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York to Stephen Stanley and Anna (Hetes) Johnson. She married Edward A. Rabbitt on May 1, 1943 at Ellington Field, Texas. They were married for 63 years. Edward passed away in 2007. Dorothy was employed as an Assistant System Analyst for over 40 years at Sterling Drug, Inc., New York City, New York. She moved to Carlsbad in 1986. Dorothy loved to read, play games on the computer, working on the computer; surfing the net and e-mailing family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Annamae Politano of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Stephen W. Johnson of Holiday, Florida; brother and sister-in-law: Robert Rabbitt and wife, Irene of Hicksville, New York; sister-in-law, Jeanne Rabbitt of Yonkers, New York and numerous nieces and nephews.
