Doris M. Riddle

Doris M. Riddle, 90, of San Juan Manor, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 8, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2011, 1:00 PM, at First Christian Church with Rev. David Wilson Rogers officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Doris M. Riddle was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1920 to Frank and Margaret (Luther) Sloan. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1938. She married G. W. "Bill" Riddle on August 27, 1941 in Cumberland, Maryland, Given her husbands employment with El Paso Natural Gas, the family lived in several remote EPNG gas camps, retiring in El Paso, TX. She moved to Lakeview Christian Home's Riverbend retirement community in 2003 where she was surrounded by wonder friends. Doris was a member of First Christian Church in Carlsbad where she had a very caring church family. Her hobbies included exercising, crafts and she loved to cook. She was a very devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. It was her desire to donate her body to Texas Tech Donation Program for medical research. Once this research is complete, her cremated remains will be interred alongside her husband's at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a grandson, Stephen Orr. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Orr and husband Mike of Jal, NM; grandson, David Orr of Alamogordo, NM and two great-grandchildren: Alan Orr of Kirtland, NM and Emily Orr of Ft.
