Doris M. Rich

Doris M. Rich, 85, of Alamosa Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Covenant Specialty Hospital, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Brad Coates officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Doris M. Rich was born March 19, 1931 in Enid, Oklahoma to Elbert B. and Nova N. (Morton) Beasley. She lived in Rule, Texas a short while before moving to Carlsbad as a young girl with her parents. Doris graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1949. She worked in several retail stores before going to work for Doctors Griffith and Griffith where she worked until retiring in 2012. Doris enjoyed crafts, painting and music. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert C. Rich, Jr.; one great-grandson and sisters: Mildred Chester and Ruth Dicken. Survivors are her children: Michael W. Rich and wife, Vickie of Andrews, Texas, Rhonda J. Rich of Rio Rancho, NM, Tommy E. Rich and Danita Phillips of Carlsbad, NM; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Robert M. Rich, Cody L. Rich, Chris Connell, Donnie Rinker, James Harrison, Danny Porter, Neil Richardson and Terry LeMaire. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
